A Photo A Day

Watery reflection

January 31, 2011

It rained today.  The puddles of water that usually get shoes wet, if not avoided, caught my eye as I walked down the trail.  The reflection of the blue sky, and the yellow median underwater are my favorite.  And with rain comes drops of water on leaves and from berries that I don’t know their name.

Cloudy days

January 30, 2011

The clouds today were amazing as the sun tried to break through. It is expected to rain tonight and tomorrow. I came across a tricycle that was left on a hill, which was eventually reclaimed. But in the end, the shot of the foam and the sun is my favorite today.

The trees have eyes

January 29, 2011

A sculpture by Patrick Dougherty at the Palo Alto Art Center, made of willow saplings. It is very big and very impressive how the sticks are positioned and just stay there.

The holes look like eyes for some reason.

On the shelf

January 28, 2011

At the Sunnyvale Heritage Park Museum I came across some old containers of cooking ingredients. Metal containers that are probably older than me.

Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain

January 27, 2011

The Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain, from Grays Harbor, Washington, are docked at the Port of Redwood City until February 3rd. The Lady Washington was in the Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl as the HMS Interceptor. I took a tour aboard both vessels and was impressed with the beauty and crew each has.

While I was waiting for the tour I was able to snap a picture of a bee pollinating flowers and the wake of a boat that passed by.
